Results of UHE Teles Pires Auction is approved by ANEEL

The executive board of ANEEL approved at the meeting last Tuesday (02/08) the approval of the result of the new energy auction, held on December 17, 2010, to hire the production coming only from of hydroelectric generation projects. With the decision, they awarded* grants from the Hydroelectric Power Plants (HPP) of Teles Pires, Mato Grosso, and Santo Antonio do Jari, Amapá,, members of the fair.
     The Teles Pires HPP has an installed capacity of at least 1820 Megawatts (MW) and it will be built in the Teles Pires River (MT). The power plant was sold by the Teles Pires Energia Eficiente Consortium with final bid price of BRL 58.36 per MWh, 33% discount to the initial price of BRL 87 per MWh.
The winning energy bidder of the Santo Antônio do Jari HPP was the Amapá Energy consortium, formed by companies and Jari ECE Energy Holdings, with final bid price of $ 104 per MWh, no discount at the initial price. The power plant with installed capacity of 300 MW, is installed on the Jari River (AP).
     The auction ended with the hiring of 968 MW, at an average selling price of BRL 67.31 per MWh. The total investment reaches BRL 4.8 billion. The two plants that sold energy at the auction will sign purchase and sale of energy with 30 years' duration, expected to be supplied as of January 1, 2015. Check here the notification of awarding and approval of the event. (DB/GL)
