After considering the request, the distributor must, within 45 calendar days, refund the consumer, if there is relationship between the disturbance and damage to equipment occurred in the system. Within this period, the concessionaire has 10 days to inspect the equipment, up to 15 days after the inspection, to report the result of consumer demand and a further 20 days to make the cash compensation, repair or replacement of equipment if the case. For appliances used in the conservation of perishable foods, such as refrigerators and freezers, the inspection must occur within one business day.
The consumer can request the procedure by phone, by Internet (on site) or in person at service agencies. If the licensee responds poorly to the request, the consumer may use the state regulatory agency or contracted company, as last instance, the Ombudsman body of ANEEL, on phone number 167 or on the Agency website (www.aneel.gov.br).
