The term of Public Hearing No. 121/2010 about the improvement of the proposed methodology to review the shelf life of assets and facilities in use in the electricity sector was extended by the board of the National Energy Agency (ANEEL) at today's meeting (02/15). The hearing, which would be closed next Thursday (02/17), will have a period for receiving contributions extended until March 4.

The conduction of the audience came from the perception of the ANEEL Board regarding the need to update the percentages associated with depreciation rates of assets (property and facilities) used for the performance of activities of electric power.

The consultants hired by ANEEL to study the life of the equipment surveyed the experience of international regulators, as well as survey of manufacturers and on technical standards and also with the power agents in order to verify the duration of the use of equipment installed in power systems.
Contributions to the hearing may be submitted until March 4 by e-mail: ap121_2010@aneel.gov.br . The deadline, contributions will be reviewed by technical area and the final decision will be submitted to the Board of the Agency. (PG/DB/GL)
