The company Sementes Selecta S/A was authorized by the National Energy Agency (ANEEL) to act as self-producing energy in the municipality of Araguari, Minas Gerais, through the implementation of a Thermal Power Plant (TPS) Selecta. TPP has an installed capacity of 11.4 megawatts (MW) and uses sugar cane bagasse and soy molasses as fuel. The above decision was taken at the meeting of the advisory board of Aneel held yesterday (02/15). Brazil currently has 270 self-producers of energy, 38 of which sell the surplus energy produced.
