The Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) has produced several publications aiming to inform society on its mission, operations, and other topics relating to the electricity sector. One of these publications is the collection Energia do Dia-a-Dia (“Day-to-Day Power”).

The collection consists of six small booklets that feature simple, illustrated tips on the saving and efficient use of electricity, the work of ANEEL, and its agencies in the signatory states, in addition shedding light on one of the forms of participation in the decisions of the Agency.

The pamphlet Conheça a ANEEL (“Meet Aneel”) presents the main functions of the agency: to regulate and supervise all electricity services supplied in Brazil. It also discusses the role of the signatory state regulatory agencies. Another booklet addresses the Audiências e Consultas Públicas(“Hearings and Public Consultations”) and explains how citizens can participate in the discussion of matters of interest.

The main Direitos e Deveres do Consumidor de Energia Elétrica (“Electricity Consumer Rights and Duties”) and the Uso Eficiente de Energia Elétrica(“Efficient Use of Electricity”), with simple tips on how to use electricity sparingly, avoiding waste, are also included in the pamphlet series. Another booklet on Uso Seguro da Energia Elétrica (“Safe Use of Electricity”)helps make consumers aware of risks when using electricity. The pamphlet on Furto de Energia Elétrica(“Theft of Electricity”), which causes losses to consumers, is also included in the collection.
