Consumer: installation of service stations goes into effect today

Fonte: ANEEL
The determination to install live presence service stations in every municipality of the concession area of each electricity distribution company goes into effect today (03/15), according to  Resolution nº. 414/2010, which establishes the General Conditions for Electricity Supply. According to the norm, the implantation is gradual, according to the size of the location served.

The stations in municipalities with over 10 thousand units should be operating starting today, 180 days after the publication of the resolution. In the cities that have two thousand to ten thousand consumer units, the stations shall be installed by June 15, while locations with less than two thousand units, the consumers shall be able to count on the stations starting September 15th of this year.

The stations shall work for at least eight hours a week at locations with up to two thousand consumer units. In municipalities between two thousand and ten thousand consumer units, the minimum operation should be four hours daily and eight hours daily at locations with more than 10 thousand consumer units. The service hours should be regular and previous informed and set at the entrance of all the service stations. The structure of each station should consider the maximum waiting time of 45 minutes, with the exception of situations marked by acts of God or force majeure.

Another point of the norm that goes into effect today (03/15) refers to the suspension of supply due to the lack of payment of the electricity bill, which can only be done during commercial hours. And bills more than 90 days overdue cannot be the reason for suspension (the cut should be done up to 90 days after the verification of the delay) as long as the later bills are paid.

Also starting today (03/15), the distributors will have to adopt the standardized model of Event and Inspection Term (Termo de Ocorrência e Inspeção – TOI), foreseen in resolution nº. 414, in order to guarantee isonomy and standardize installation evaluation criteria.

The minimum rate, called the availability cost, will go through two alterations starting this Tuesday (03/15): payment proportional to the contract ending date and exemption of charging in the cycles after the suspension of supply (when there is any). Previously, the payment of the minimum rate was full, independent from the contract ending. (DB/GL)
