The National Energy Agency (ANEEL) approved the request for prior approval for the restructuring of distributor Elektro Eletricidade e Serviços S/A, which operates in 223 municipalities of São Paulo and five in Mato Grosso do Sul, with 1.95 million consumer units. The company will move on to the direct control of Empresa Paranaense Comercializadora Ltda., which will own 65.23% of the shares, and the indirect control of Iberdrola Energia do Brasil Ltda. with 34.45%.
The control of the company today is shared by ETB Energia Total do Brazil Ltda. (31.22%), AEI Brazil Ltd. (34.45%), AEI Investimentos Energéticos Ltda. (3.40%) and EPC Empresa Paranaense Comercializadora Ltda. (30.61%). The company has, within 90 (ninety) days, to complete the transfer and 30 (thirty) days after activation to forward supporting documentation to ANEEL.
The application was presented to ANEEL in February. The Agency estimates that, from a regulatory point of view, there were no impediments to the transaction information provided to the Secretariat of Economic Law (SDE) of the Ministry of Justice. (FA/GL)
