At its last meeting on March 22, the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency board approved transferring the authorization to exploit the Imbé I Small Hydroelectric Plant, as an independent producer*, from Construtora Preart Ltda. to Paracatu Energia S/A. The Imbé I SHP has 2.3 Megawatts of installed capacity and it is located on Preto River, in the municipality of Imbé, Minas Gerais (MG).
Upon analyzing the transfer of ownership, the Agency checked issues that refer to legal qualification and fiscal good standing requested of Paracatu Energia and it determined demands were met. Since the plant’s timetable was behind schedule, new milestones were presented for implementing the SHP, which should begin commercial operations on February 1, 2014. (DB/GL)
