The Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) board approved the Modernization Plan for Installations of Systemic Interest (PMIS) for 2010-2013 yesterday (3/30).

For 2010 (year the plan was elaborated) to 2013, a set of 564 works was defined, 5 of which involve generation, 69 distribution and 490 transmission.As to the type of intervention, 332 are improvements and 158 are reinforcements.Investments of around R$ 257 million are projected.The jobs and their execution deadlines are described in Annex I of the resolution that approves the PMIS 2010-2013, to be published in the Official Federal Gazette.

The draft for the resolution was in public hearing (no.001/2011) from January 21 to February 11, 2011. During that period ANEEL received 51 contributions, 71% of which were accepted or partially accepted.Analysis of the contributions was the target of a technical note that subsidized the board’s decision.(GL/DB)
