ANEEL authorized an increase in capacity for the São Martinho Thermoelectric Plant (TEP), located in the municipality of Pradópolis, São Paulo, granted to Usina São Martinho S/A as an independent producer in 2005. The plant will expand power from 19 Megawatts (MW) to 33 MW.
The thermoelectric plant originally had four turbo generators, one with 1 MW and three with 6 MW.With this expansion, the capacity of one of the generators will go to 15 MW and for the other three, 6 MW each.
The São Martinho TEP is one of 1432 thermoelectric plants in operation in Brazil today, with total installed capacity of 32 thousand MW, equivalent to 26.41 of the country's general power.The data can be seen in ANEEL’s Generation Information Database, available hereon the www.aneel.gov.br web site in Technical Information.(FA/GL)
