Companies RBF Geração de Energia S/A e Cooperzem Cooperativa de Geração de Energia e Desenvolvimentowere authorized by the National Energy Agency (ANEEL) to act as independent power producers.* As an independent producer, the companies may sell part or all power produced, at their own risk.

RBF will install and operate Small Hydroelectric Plant Retiro I in the city of Coroaci, Minas Gerais. The SHP has 19 megawatts (MW) of power from two generating units of 9.5 MW each. Whereas Cooperzem should deploy the SHP Volta Grande in the cities of São Bonifácio e São Martinho, in Santa Catarina. The power installed from the SHP will be 3.13 megawatt.

The ANEEL Generation Database (BIG) records today (04/01), the existence of 911 independent power producing agents authorized by the Agency. Check here the list of these agents in the BIG, which can also be accessed at the Agency’s website (www.aneel.gov.br), in Technical Information. The database is constantly updated. (DB)
