ANEEL extends rates of distributors subject to review in 2011

The current rates for electricity distributors undergoing periodic rate review this year will be held until the publication of definitive methodology and implementation of the third review cycle. This applies to Companhia Energéteica do Ceará (Coelce), whose review was scheduled for the 22nd, this month. The decision was made ​​today (04/12) by the board of the National Energy Agency (ANEEL).

After the approval of the methodology of the third round of rate review, the distributors who had the duration of their rates extended will have 28 days to submit the initial information necessary for calculating rates, except those relating to the Remuneration Base* Regulatory, which still remains in Resolution No.342/2008.

The resolution also determines the retroactive application of new contract values ​​at the date of the rate reviews.The change in revenue resulting from the difference among the rates applied in the interim period of validity of the rate review and approval as defined in the final results will be calculated and compensated.

The proposal came at a public hearing in the period from February 3 to March 4 this year and received contributions of ten institutions.
