Thermal Plant in Sergipe receives authorization for independent production

In a decision taken at the last public meeting of the board of the National Energy Agency (ANEEL), in 04/12, Agro Industrial Capela Ltda. was allowed to act as independent power producer as from the establishment and operation of Thermal Power Plant (TPP) Taquari, in Capela (SE).

The plant will have eight megawatts (MW) of installed power and generate energy from sugar cane bagasse. The transmission system of restricted interest of TPP Taquari will consist of a substation and through the connection point to the transmission line that connects the plant to the substation Carmópolis (SE) substation, owned by Energisa Sergipe.

The independent producer is a company or consortium of companies holding concessions, permits or authorization to produce energy that can be fully commercialized, at the generator’s own risk, according to rules of Normative Resolution No. 109/2006. (FA/GL)
