The Congress of Technological Innovation in Electric Power (CITENEL) and the Second Seminar on Energy Efficiency in the Electricity Sector (SEENEL) have been scheduled: 17-19 August, in Fortaleza (CE). The events, coordinated by the National Energy Agency (ANEEL), this year, will be organized by Companhia Elétrica do Ceará (COELCE). Experts and industry researchers will gather to discuss research initiatives and development (R&D) and energy efficiency (EE), besides participating in panels with presentation of results of projects developed by electricity concessionaires, technical seminars and business rounds.
At the opening of the event, the fourth edition of Revista P&D will be launched, a publication edited by ANEEL since 2006 and which brings technical articles on the projects developed under the R&D program of the Agency. For the next issues, 30 items of companies were selected in a sector which, among other contributions, offers solutions to combat energy theft, improve the maintenance of areas of transmission lines, optimize conservation of voltage transformers, refine the measurement of consumption, monitor the operation of reservoirs of power plants to reduce risks, among others. Check previous editions of the Revista P&D.
Another purpose of CITENEL is to attract industry interest and increase their participation in projects, so that the results come faster to the market. "We want to give visibility to the R&D programs to society and, moreover, to keep technology providers in contact with the electricity sector," said the Superintendent of Research and Development and Energy Efficiency of ANEEL, Máximo Luiz Pompermayer.
During the SEENEL energy efficiency measures undertaken by the distributors will be highlighted, which are important in combating the waste of electricity."Public policies on character education are very important to create the culture to combat energy loss. And when we show the energy efficiency projects, we will also be providing consumers with regard to the work we do," said the superintendent.
Information on the participation of the general public will be released soon. Each company that contributes with resources in R&D and Energy Efficiency program is entitled to a free registration. Authors of papers accepted for oral or poster presentation can also subscribe free of charge.
The latest edition of the CITENEL and the SEENEL was held in June 2009, in Belém (PA) and had around 500 participants including officials, researchers, experts, business representatives, students and others. (PG/GL)
