The company Vale Verde Empreendimentos Agrícolas Ltda. has been authorized to act as a self-production agent* of electricity based on the implementation and operation of the Thermal Power Plant (TPP) Itapaci, located in the municipality of the same name, of the plant in the state of Goiás. The thermal power plant has 6.9 megawatts (MW) of installed power and will generate energy from sugar cane bagasse.
The authorization was granted at the meeting of the ANEEL Board held last Tuesday (04/19). Currently, Brazil has 274 self-producers of energy, 37 of which sell the surplus energy produced.
