The National Energy Agency (ANEEL) approved at the public meeting yesterday (04/26) the complement of BRL 4,314,000 to the economic budget of the National System Operator (ONS) to the cycle from July 2010 to June 2011. The value is used in construction of new premises of the institution in Rio de Janeiro, Recife (PE) and Florianópolis (SC).
The ONS economic budget approved in June 2010 for the cycle from July 2010 to June 2011 was set at UBRL 366.88 million, of which BRL 320.7 million allocated to costing items, BRL 42.9 million for the Action Plan and BRL 3.2 million for Acquisitions and Improvements, according to Authorizing Resolution No. 2.459/2010. In the initial budget, additional value for expansion and change of headquarters and operation centers has not been specified.
The new facilities will occupy buildings for exclusive use by the ONS and with size compatible with the needs of the Operator, be as horizontal as possible to facilitate interaction between the teams and have sustainability criteria recommended by accreditation bodies. Occupancy costs should follow the reference values of the local market and the current unit costs.
Currently, the ONS operates in rented buildings sharing structure with other institutions which have created management difficulties for the implementation of commensurate systems with the needs of the operation of the National Interconnected System (SIN).
The cost of the Operator is one of the charges imposed on energy prices, according to Law no. 9.648/1998, regulated by Decree No. 2.335/1997. (FA/GL)
