The inspection area of the generation of the National Energy Agency (ANEEL) recorded in 2010, increasing installed capacity of 6,098.58 megawatts (MW). In the broadcast, the inspection recorded the extension of 2,524 kilometers (km) of transmission lines and 5,057 MeV/ampere (MVA) in processing capacity.
In the increase of installed power, the 1537.95 MW came from hydroelectric plants (HEP). Other 3747.67 MW were from thermal power plants (TPP), plus 475.55 MW Small Hydro Power (SHP) and 12.74 MW from Hydrolelectric Generating Plants (HGP). The wind farms have contributed to 324.6 MW.
The increased capacity could have reached 6146.38 MW, but the processes of regularization, repowering, reactivation and deactivation resulted in a reduction of 47.80 MW. In HPPs, the decrease was 52.3 MW, whereas in TPP the drop was in of 12.23 MW and in the wind ones, 0.95 MW. On the other hand, the SHP contributed with expansion of 4.87 MW, the HGPs with 12.74 MW and solar generation with 0.07 MW. (GL/FA)
