It was published today (06/01), in the Official Journal, Resolution No. 436/2011 , which extends until October 2011 the deadline for distributors to verify the submission of proposals to transfer public lighting assets to the municipal government of its concession area or to the government district, in the case of the utility serving the Federal District.
The original deadline would be due in July 2011, but the distributors claimed complexity and difficulties in accounting and transfer of assets and preparation of the report. In addition to the proposals, companies must submit the drafts of contracts to be signed and reports with details of street lighting assets to be transferred.
The issue was discussed this morning during the Public Hearing in the House of Representatives. During the event, the director of ANEEL, Romeu Donizete Rufino, explained the reasons for the transfer of responsibility for the maintenance of public lighting infrastructure. "The law has defined that the lighting is the responsibility of the municipality and, for that, it allowed the collection of the contribution of public lighting. In theory, this value is to fund the service, so we understand that there will be no cost to the consumer," he said.
The transfer of assets is envisaged in Resolution No. 414/2010 and the Agency held the 24-month period for which the process is completely finished. (PG/GL)
