TPP Paranapanema goes into operation in 2012

UMOE Bioenergy S/A was entitled to operate power plant Paranapanema (TPP Paranapanema) as an independent producer. The plant will have 60 megawatts (MW) of total installed power. It will operate on heat cycle cogeneration using bagasse from sugar cane as fuel. It will be located in industrial affiliate of the company in the city of Sandovalina (São Paulo). The plant will start operation in trial mode until April 12, 2012. The commercial operation is expected to start by April 26, 2012.

The agent received permission today during a public meeting of the board of the National Energy Agency (ANEEL). The company will also deploy and operate the transmission system of special interest of the plant, consisting of a substation connected to substation Taquaruçu, administered by Companhia de Transmissão de Energia Elétrica Paulista (CTEEP), through a transmission line of 138 kV, in double circuit, 18 km long (FA/GL)
