São Paulo (06/10) – Compahia Hidro Elétrica do São Francisco S/A (CHESF) has recently been awarded the Lot B of the Transmission Auction 001/2010, with a 26% discount in relation to the ceiling of the Annual Allowed Revenue (RAP)* by the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL), which was R$12,174,560.00. The amount submitted was R$4,047,637.00. The discount contributes to lowering electricity tariffs. The lot is composed of a transmission line of 65 kilometers (km) located in Bahia. Its construction should generate 250 direct jobs. Check out the characteristics of the lots auctioned.
The deadline for construction is 22 months to be counted from the signing of the agreement. The benefits of the new line include encouraging the integration of wind energy in the national energy matrix, aiming at environmental, operating and socioeconomic gains of these projects, located in Bahia, in a region with reduced transmission and sub-transmission network capacity.
The auction currently takes place at the headquarters of BM&FBovespa. Other two lots will be offered for projects that will integrate the Basic Network of the National Interconnected System (SIN) along with the Transmission Facilities of Exclusive Interest of Shared Connection Generation Centers (**) that traded energy at the reserve (005/2010) and alternative sources (007/2010) auctions. The ICGs are required for the flow of wind energy sold in alternative sources and reserve energy auctions dated August 2010, which resulted in the acquisition of 1,206.6MW of installed power in Bahia, Ceará, and Rio Grande do Norte. *Annual Allowed Revenue (RAP) – the annual revenue granted to the transmission company for the provision of public transmission services to users, as from entry into commercial operation of the facilities. Its amount is obtained as a result of the auction, with annual adjustment by the Extended Consumer Price Index (IPCA) of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) and revision every five years under the concession agreement.
**TRANSMISSION FACILITIES OF EXCLUSIVE INTEREST OF SHARED CONNECTION GENERATION CENTERS (ICG) – Transmission facilities and equipment not included in the Basic Network and Other Transmission Facilities (DIT), aiming at shared access of generation centers based on wind sources, biomass, or small hydropower plants to the Basic Network.
