As from this Wednesday (06/15), municipalities with between two thousand and ten thousand units of energy consumers will have stations of distributors to offer onsite service to consumers. Stations should operate for at least four hours daily, except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. The hours of operation should be attached at the entrance of the station. The measure addresses the determination of the National Energy Agency (ANEEL), as provided in  Resolution No. 414/2010, which brings the rights and duties of the consumer.

According to the resolution, consumers in cities with fewer than two thousand consumer units will have the stations as from September 15. In these places, attendance is eight hours per week, also with the exception of Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Municipalities with more than 10,000 consumer units have had the stations since March 15, for eight hours daily, except on weekends and holidays.

Consumers of electricity can refer to the date of commencement of operation of onsite service stations of electric energy distribution in their municipality. ANEEL established a list that can be found here. The list contains the name of the municipalities in alphabetical order, the operating time of the service stations and the date of its installation, which varies with the number of consumer units.

ANEEL also ensures compliance with the requirement of distributors to install onsite service stations. In case of noncompliance with the rule, the distributors are subject to a fine of up to 2% of revenues, as provided for in other regulations of the Agency (Resolution no. 63/2004).

In the first phase of monitoring by ANEEL (inspection in stations in cities with more than 10,000 consumer units), the Agency found that three distributors failed to install these points in time, the deadline was March 15, so they were fined, but the processes are still on appeal. (GL/FA)
