Thermal Power Plant (TPP) Tambaqui, located in Manaus (AM), will increase its installed capacity from 81.94 megawatts (MW) to 155.7 MW. For this, 23 new generators powered by natural gas will be deployed which, added to four existing generators powered by oil, will make plant run dual fuel operation.
The contract for the supply of electric energy Breitener and Amazonas Distribuidora de Energia S/Aprovides that the generator must run dual fuel operation, if there is natural gas in Manaus. As a result, Breitener requested to change the technical characteristics of the plant.
The request for extension was approved at the last public meeting of the board (06/14). Breitener Tambaqui S.A. holds the authorization for establishment and operation of the TPP, in the Independent Producer mode*. (DB / LG)
