ANEEL (the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency) has kept the fine of R$ 3.1 million imposed to CTEEP (Companhia de Transmissão de Energia Elétrica Paulista), regarding the blackout that occurred at 10:13 pm on November 10, 2009, when the supply of 24,436 megawatts (MW) was interrupted in the South and Southeast regions, affecting 18 states. The energy transmission company was fined for the operation failures that caused delayed system recovery.
The last case to be analyzed by ANEEL regarding the blackout will be the fine imposed to ONS (Operador Nacional do Sistema) of R$ 1.3 million.
