Company Eldorado Celulose e Papel S/A was allowed to act as a self-producer of electrical energy through the establishment and operation of thermal power plant (TPP) Eldorado Brasil, located in Três Lagoas, Mato Grosso do Sul. The plant will have 226 megawatts (MW) of installed capacity, consisting of two generating units of 113 MW each. The TPP uses black liquor** and wood waste as fuel.
The decision came at a meeting of the executive board of the National Energy Agency (ANEEL) held last Tuesday (06/21). Currently, the national energy matrix has 14 plants in operation using black liquor as fuel. Access the Information Generation Bank (BIG) of ANEEL to see the composition of the matrix.
