The Use Rates of the Transmission System (TUST) for the 2011/2012 cycle were approved at a collegiate meeting of directors of ANEEL held last Tuesday (06/28). The total revenue to be collected by the TUST in the next cycle is BRL 12.3 billion.
The new usage charges are the result of updating the value of the Annual Revenue Allowed applied to all transmission projects comprising the Basic Network, International Crossroads, Basic Network Border and Other Transmission Facilities (DIT) shared, which are or will be operating business in the next 12 months.
The TUST is paid by users of the Basic Network of the Interconnected System: generators, distributors, free and potentially free consumers, and traders who import and export electricity. The calculation of the rates includes items that make up the revenue of broadcasters and the budget of the National System Operator (ONS).
At the same meeting, the board set at BRL 4,003.45 per megawatt (MW) the transport rate of the electricity generated by Itaipu. This amount will be paid by the distributors who hold shares for the purchase of energy from Itaipu to Furnas, because of the availability of the transmission system of your property only for use as connection facilities of the plant. We also defined the TUST charges, CCC and CDE that include procedures for assessment of PIS/Pasep and Cofins. (DB/GL)
