With the continuation of the fine to the National System Operator (ONS), the National Energy Agency (ANEEL) closed on Tuesday (07/05) punitive processes related to the blackout occurred at 10:13PM on November 10, 2009 when there was interruption of 24,436 Megawatts (MW) of electrical system in the South and Southeast regions and reached 18 states.
The ONS was fined at BRL 1.1 million by faulty operation that caused the delay in rebuilding the system. The penalty imposed by the technical area was BRL 1.3 million, a figure reduced by BRL 200 thousand by the board during the public meeting this Tuesday (07/05).
Another six agents were punished for their roles in the incident. The total fines amounted to BRL 47.6 million. Check reports. (FA/GL)
