The board of the National Energy Agency (ANEEL) authorized companies Guascor do Brasil Ltda. and Small Hydro Power (SHP) Zé Tunin S/A to act as independent power producers through the establishment and operation of generation projects. The collegiate decision came at a meeting of the board held last Tuesday (07/05).

Guascor should install thermoelectric plant Cruzeiro do Sul, located in a municipality of the same name, in Acre. The plants have 24 megawatts (MW) of installed power.

Another company authorized to act as an independent producer was SHP Zé Tunin. To this end, it must deploy and operate the SHP with the same name, located in the municipalities of Guarani and Astolfo Dutra, in Minas Gerais. The plant's installed capacity is 8 MW.

The Information Generation Bank (BIG) of ANEEL records today (07/07) the existence of 967 independent energy producing agents authorized by the Agency.

Check here the list of these agents in the BIG, which can also be accessed on the website of the Agency (www.aneel.gov.br), in Technical Information. The database is constantly updated. (DB / LG)
