The Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) opened a public consultation to discuss the revision of the regulation that addresses the power quality verified in the distribution networks. The rule is part of Section 8.1 of Module 8 of the Distribution Procedures – PRODIST.
The documents available in the consultation proposed the discussion on relevant aspects of the phenomena of Voltage Unbalance, Harmony, Voltage Fluctuation, and Voltage Variations of Short Duration. The correct definition of these phenomena and indicators that characterize them is essential for the evaluation of product quality in electricity distribution networks and, in the future, of acceptable thresholds for such phenomena.
Reference regulations and definitions on the subject are also discussed, as well as issues of concern already identified by ANEEL on these phenomena.
