The Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) will be holding an extraordinary public meeting next Monday (18) to decide on the public notices of generation auctions 02/2011 and 03/2011. The meeting will be held at 3:00 AM, at the Agency’s headquarters in Brasília and will be open to the public.
Generation Auction 02/2011 will be offering the contracting of power from new projects for power generation from hydroelectric, wind, and biomass or natural gas thermal sources, with supply starting as of March 1, 2014. The event will be held on the Internet and the generated power will be subject to the Power Sale Agreement in Regulated Environments (CCEAR), in the power availability and amount modalities.
Reserve Power Auction 03/2011, in turn, provides for the contracting of power from wind and biomass sources, with supply starting as of July 1, 2014. The event will also be held on the Internet, but the negotiated power will be subject to the Reserve Power Agreement (CER), in the power amount modality. (FA/DB)
