The National Energy Agency (ANEEL) authorized the framing of Santana do Araguaia Energia S.A. in subrogation of the Fuel Consumption Bill (CCC), for the installation of the Thermal Power Plant (TPP) Santana do Araguaia I, in the municipality of Santana do Araguaia, Pará. The subrogation is a financial incentive granted to encourage the replacement of thermal generation with petroleum fuels or from other sources to make the plant more efficient.
The implementation of TPP Santana do Araguaia I will promote the deactivation of diesel power plants in Santana do Araguaia and Barreira do Campo, both in Pará, through the implementation of the power plant with biomass fuel.
The mechanism of subrogation of the CCC provides allocation of resources to replace thermal generation projects derived from petroleum fuel for Small Hydro Power (SHP), pipelines, wind farms, biomass and natural gas plants with efficiency projects for existing power plants that promote the reduction of the current or future expenditure of CCC of isolated electricity systems.
ANEEL fixes the amount to be subrogated to BRL 37.5 million, representing 75% of BRL 50.1 million, recognized and approved by the Agency to implement the project. It was also established that the benefit of subrogation is passed on to the price of purchase and sale of electricity to meet the service delivery agreements by the company under the Isolated Systems Auction No. 02/2010, under penalty of revocation of authorization.
In the same public meeting (07/19), Brasil Bio Fuels also had the same right. (FA/GL)
