The early registration for participation in the VI Congress of Technological Innovation in Electric Power (CITENEL) and the Second Seminar on Energy Efficiency in the Electricity Sector (SEENEL) close up this Wednesday (08/10). The event, coordinated by the National Energy Agency (ANEEL), will happen August 17-19, in Fortaleza (CE), under the organization of the Companhia Energética do Ceará (COELCE). On the first day of the event, interested parties should formalize their registration in the registry.

Experts and industry researchers will gather to discuss research and development (R&D) initiatives and energy efficiency (EE), besides participating in panels with presentation of results of projects developed by companies in the electricity sector, technical seminars and business rounds. More information can be obtained here.

At the opening of the event, they will launch the fourth edition of Revista P&D, a publication edited by ANEEL since 2006, which brings technical articles on the projects developed under the R&D program of the Agency. For the next issue, 30 articles of companies in the sector were selected and, among other contributions they offer solutions to combat energy theft, improve the maintenance of transmission lines areas, to optimize the conservation of voltage transformers, refine the measurement of consumption, monitor the operation of power plants reservoirs to reduce risks, among others. Check previous editions of the Revista P&D

Another objective of CITENEL is to draw the interest of the industry and increase their participation in projects, so that the results come more quickly to the market. "We want to give visibility to R&D programs for society and also keep technology providers in contact with the electricity industry," said the Superintendent of Research and Development and Energy Efficiency of ANEEL, Máximo Luiz Pompermayer.

During SEENEL, energy efficiency measures developed by distributors will be pointed out, they are important in combating electricity waste. "Public policies of an educational nature are very important to create the culture to combat energy loss. And by presenting the energy efficiency projects, we will also be accountable to consumers of the work we do," said the superintendent.

The latest editions of CITENEL and SEENEL were held in June 2009 in Belém (PA) and had approximately 500 participants, such as authorities, researchers, experts, business representatives, students and others. (PG/GL/DB)
