The 6th Congress of Technological Innovation in Electric Power (CITENEL) and the 2nd Seminar on Energy Efficiency in the Electricity Sector (SEENEL) will be held from Wednesday (08/17) to August 19. The events will take place in the Business Factory, located at Avenida Monsignor Tabosa, number 740, in Fortaleza (CE).
The CITENEL and the SEENEL, coordinated by the National Energy Agency (ANEEL), this year will be organized by Companhia Energética do Ceará (COELCE). Experts and industry researchers will gather to discuss research initiatives and development (R&D) and energy efficiency (EE), and will participate in panels with presentation of results of projects developed by companies in the electricity sector, technical seminars and business rounds.
On the first day of events, the fourth edition of Revista P&D, edited by ANEEL, and the book "Desafios da Inovação em Serviços Públicos Regulados: Alterando paradigmas metodológicos na concepção das tarifas de energia elétrica" (Challenges of the Public Regulated Service Innovation: changing methodological paradigms in the design of electricity rates), written by Marco Delgado AP, will be released.
Revista P&D, published by ANEEL since 2006, provides technical articles on the projects developed under the R&D program of the Agency. For the next 30 articles were selected number of companies in the sector which, among other contributions, offer solutions to combat energy theft, improve the maintenance of transmission lines areas, optimize the conservation of voltage transformers, refine the measurement of consumption, monitor the operation of reservoirs of power plants to reduce risks, among others. See previous editions of Revista P&D.
One of CITENEL’s goals is to draw interest from the industry and increase their participation in projects, so that the results come more quickly to the market. "We want to give visibility to R&D programs for society and also keep technology providers in touch with the electricity industry," said the Superintendent of Research and Development and Energy Efficiency of ANEEL, Máximo Luiz Pompermayer.
During the SEENEL, energy efficiency measures developed by the distributors will be pointed out, which is important in combating electricity waste. "The public policy of an educational nature is very important to create the culture to combat energy loss. And by presenting the energy efficiency projects, we will also be accountable to consumers of the work we do," said the superintendent.
Each company which contributes with resources in the R&D and Energy Efficiency programs is entitled to a free registration. The authors of papers accepted for oral or poster presentation can also subscribe free of charge.
The latest edition of the CITENEL and the SEENEL was held in June 2009 in Belém (PA) and had approximately 500 participants between authorities, researchers, experts, business representatives, students and others.
