The National Energy Agency (ANEEL) publicized the draft resolution establishing new annual asset depreciation rates in service granted in the energy sector under Public Hearing No. 121/2010. The draft amending Tables I and XVI of the Power Sector Assets Control Handbook (MCPSE), approved by Normative Resolution No. 367/2009. Check the document here. The subject will still be decided at a public meeting of the board of ANEEL.
The change in annual depreciation rates started on the perception of the Board of ANEEL about the need to update the percentage for the rates. To do so, ANEEL hired consultants to study the life of the equipment, surveyed the experience of international regulators, and conducted a survey among manufacturers, about technical standards and also with the power agents, in order to check the running time in use of equipment installed in power systems.
The subject was placed in public hearing (AP no. 121) which initially was open to contributions from December 17, 2010, to February 17, extending the deadline to March 4, 2011. The onsite session was held on February 19, 2011. (GL/PG/CE).
