The Research and Development (R&D) magazine, edited by ANEEL since 2006, was launched today (17) on the first day of the events 6th Congress of Technological Innovation in Electric Power (CITENEL) and 2nd Seminar on Energy Efficiency in the Electricity Sector (SEENEL). At the launching ceremony of the fourth edition of the magazine, the Director-General of ANEEL, Nelson Hübner, stressed the importance of the publication. According to the director, "the magazine features outstanding examples of resources used effectively by companies in R&D projects."
In the publication, 30 articles were selected among sector companies which offer solutions to combat energy theft, improve the maintenance of overhead power lines, optimize the conservation of voltage transformers, improve the measurement of consumption, monitor the operation of reservoirs plants to reduce risks, among other contributions.

On the first day of the event, it was also held a lecture on "Creativity Innovation and Sustainability", by Waldez Luiz Ludwig. The opening day of the CITENEL and the SEENEL still has the launch of the book "Desafios de Inovação em Serviços Públicos Regulados" (Innovation Challenges in Regulated Utilities), written by Marco A.P. Delgado, besides the panel "Visão das empresas de energia elétrica, das instituições de pesquisa e de fabricantes de tecnologia sobre o programa de P&D regulado pela ANEEL" (Vision of energy companies, research institutions and technology manufacturers about the R&D program regulated by ANEEL).
About 720 participants were present at Fábrica de Negócios, in Fortaleza, to honor the beginning of events that will happen until next Friday (19).
The event, coordinated by the National Energy Agency (ANEEL), is being organized this year by Companhia Energética do Ceará (COELCE). Experts and industry researchers are meeting to discuss research and development (R&D) and energy efficiency (EE) initiatives.
The latest edition of the CITENEL and the SEENEL was held in June 2009, in Belém (PA) and had approximately 500 participants, such as authorities, researchers, experts, business representatives, students and others.
