The Superintendent of Hydroenergetic Management and Research (SGH) approved through Order No. 3208 of 08/10/2011, the revision of the Inventory Studies of Bacia do Rio Juruena. These studies have a total inventoried power of about 8,830 megawatt (MW) distributed in 22 exploitations.
Juruena River, one of the formers of the Tapajos River, bathes the states of Mato Grosso and Amazonas, and is 1,240 kilometers (km) long.
With the approval of these studies, hydroelectric projects identified on them become part of the portfolio of plants available for preparation of feasibility studies and basic design.
