The board of the National Energy Agency (ANEEL) decided today (08/23) to maintain the current rates of Elektro Eletricidade e Serviços Ltda. until the publication of definitive methodology of the third round of rate revisions. Elektro serves 1.95 million consumer units in 223 municipalities of São Paulo and five of Mato Grosso do Sul.
The interim procedure for the treatment of rates for electricity distributors that will undergo periodic rate revision this year was approved in April in a public meeting of the board. The model was adopted in the revision of concessionaire Companhia Energética do Ceará (Coelce), Eletropaulo Metropolitana Eletricidade de São Paulo S/A and Centrais Elétricas do Pará(CELPA).
After defining the methodology of the third round of rate revisions, the distributors who had the presence of their rates extended will have 28 days to submit the initial information needed to calculate the rate revision, except those relating to the Regulatory Remuneration Base*, which remain following Resolution no. 342/2008 .
The new resolution also determines the retroactive application of new contract values at the date of the rate revisions. The change in revenue resulting from the difference between the rates applied in the interim period of validity of the rate revision and approval as defined in the final results will be calculated and compensated.
