The board of the National Energy Agency (ANEEL) approved on Tuesday (08/30), in a public meeting, changes to the module 8 of the Distribution Procedures (Prodist). The modifications were discussed at Public Hearing No. 046/2010 and are related to the improvement in defining the boundaries of the indicators of continuity and the inclusion of a global indicator based on a distributors’performanceranking.
To establish the limits of DEC* and FEC**, ANEEL performs comparative analysis between the existing sets in Brazil, which are characterized by attributes that influence the continuity of supply. Thus, similar sets are identified and the performance of the best sets is used as a reference for others. The proposal approved today sets a more detailed analysis and comparisons between more similar sets. Thus, ANEEL can define more effectively the limits of each set, requiring appropriate values of the continuity of the service provided by distributors.
The Agency also proposes the establishment of a new indicator, based on a performance ranking among the distributors, for more complete assessment regarding the continued electricity supply. The aims of the overall performance is to assess the level of continuity in relation to the distributor's limits and compare it with the performance of other distributors in the country, enabling monitoring by society of the evolution of indexes.
