Teams of ombudsmen of ANEEL and state agencies participate in event

The National Energy Agency (ANEEL) receives between today (01) and tomorrow (02) professional from ombudsmen of state agencies convened for the implementation of the sixth edition of the "A Busca do Entendimento" (The Quest for Understanding) event. The goal is to improve the procedures and train teams that handle the requests of ombudsman and solve the demands of consumers.

Among the issues to be addressed, there are lecture on mediation, presentation of topics of Resolution No. 414/2010 by Agência Reguladora de Serviços Públicos Delegados do Estado do Ceará (ARCE), in addition to presentations from the agencies of São Paulo and Mato Grosso do Sul.

The opening was held this morning (01) and was attended by Director of the agency's ombudsman, André Pepitone da Nobrega, and Mediation Administrative Sector Superintendent, Alex Sandro Feil. The event ends tomorrow at 6pm after a technical visit to the headquarters of the National System Operator (ONS) in Brasilia.

The ombudsmen of the power sector represent an important communication channel between the consumer and the government. From 2000 to April 2011, the ombudsman of ANEEL and the 11 state agencies convened recorded 10 million visits. On average, there are six thousand calls a day for the telemarketing call center (TCC), as well as requests by letter, fax, in person, email and chat. About 90% of the power distribution concessionaires have an ombudsman and, of those, 65% were created over five years ago.
