Transmission lines Sapeaçu-Camaçari and Sapeaçu-Santo Antonio de Jesus, in Bahia, which make up Lot I of Transmission Auction No. 004/2011, held by the National Agency (ANEEL) on Friday (09/02), will be built by Companhia Hidro Elétrica do São Francisco S/A (CHESF), the entrepreneur who won the bid for the lot.

The company's final bid, of BRL 8,459,316.00, was 31% less than the amount originally planned by the Agency. The RAP is the recipe that the entrepreneur is entitled to for providing the transmission service from the start of commercial operations of the facility.

The initial lot received three offers, but as the difference between the two bids was less than 5%, there was announcement of a bidding session with speakerphone between Transmissora Aliança de Energia Elétrica S/Aand CHESF, but as there was no supply CHESF won the bid submitted previously.

Lot I consists of transmission lines Sapeaçu-Camaçari IV and Sapeaçu-Santo Antônio de Jesus, which are 105 and 31 kilometers (km) long, respectively. The works are completed within 24 months after signing the concession contract, expected to generate 510 direct jobs. The construction of the lines should improve the care and control voltage transmission system in the southern region of Northeast Brazil.
