The National Energy Agency (ANEEL) approved the basic project of HPP Teles Pires. The Order No. 3504 of 08/29/2011 was issued by the Hydroenergetic Management and Studies Superintendency (SGH). Situated on the river of the same name, on the border between the states of Pará and Mato Grosso, the plant will have an installed capacity of 1,820 megawatts (MW), with a physical guarantee of 915.4 average megawatt (MWmed).
The energy of HPP Teles Pires was negotiated in the second A-5 Auction, in 2010, worth BRL 58.36/MWh. The start of commercial operation of the first generating unit is scheduled for April 30, 2015. (SGH/PG/GL).
