The collegiate board of the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) approved the tariff readjustment for the Celg-D distributor at a public meeting this Tuesday (9/6). However, the distributor is not permitted to apply the correction because it is in default with payments of several electric sector charges.
The average effect on captive consumers would have been 13.95%. The distributor’s new tariffs would have gone in effect next Monday (9/12).
Blocking the readjustment as a result of default is projected in article 10 of the Lei n° 8.631/93, which stipulates the tariff levels for electricity utilities. Thus, the concessionaire may only apply the approved indexes when it complies with its sector obligations.
Check the indexes below that will be applied to the Goiás distributor’s captive consumer electricity bills in accordance with consumption class.
