Distributors will have six months to verify the certification requirements of their laboratories as Authorized Test Stations (PEA). The labs do the technical evaluation of energy consumption meters. The period ended in September 2011 but was extended to March 2012 in order to satisfy the request of the distributors who claimed to have difficulties in meeting the requirements in a timely manner. The decision was made during a public meeting of the board last Tuesday (09/06).
The certification forecast is available in Resolution No. 414/2010, which establishes the General Conditions of Energy Supply and brings the rights and duties of consumers. According to the standard, the technical evaluation of the measurement equipment can be performed by the laboratory of the distributor or third party provided it is certified as rank testing agency authorized by the metrological authority or delegated by it.
