The Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) authorized Centrais Elétricas do Norte do Brasil S/A (Eletronorte) to reinforce its transmission installations to better meet energy supply in Mato Grosso.
Three reinforcements will be made at the SINOP substation. In order to pay for this investment, the company has the right to portions of the Permitted Annual Revenue (RAP)* worth R$ 1.4 million. The decision took place during an Agency collegiate board meeting held last Tuesday (9/6).

The deadlines for commercial startup of these improvements range between 21 and 24 months. The reinforcements authorized for Eletronorte installations are projected in the Consolidation of Basic Grid Works for 2011 to 2013.
The sums corresponding to new RAP portions for companies are considered after startup of the reinforcements’ commercial operation based on the useful life of equipment. The RAP is set by the Agency to cover investments by concessionaires at electric energy transmission installations. This revenue also covers operation and maintenance costs the companies have with these enterprises. (DB/GL)
