The Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) approved an edict for a call for proposals to identify those interested in sharing Transmission Installations of Exclusive Interest to Generation Plants for Shared Connection (ICG)* in the states of Ceará, Bahia, Rio Grande do Norte and Piauí.The call will be for those sellers who sold wind energy in auction A-3 and Reserve, held in August 2011. The decision by the Agency’s collegiate board this 9/20 is for the call to be held October 5 and 6, 2011.
The objective is to size the connection demand of plants to the SIN so the Energy Research Company (EPE) can define, for transmission concession tenders, the Basic Grid Installations and the Installations of Exclusive Interest to Generation Plants for Shared Connection. These installations will function as energy collector stations produced by the wind energy plants installed in each ICG's area of operation.
The Agency’s decision delegates part of the call for proposals’ operationalization to the Electric Power Commercialization Chamber. The main functions of the CCEE in this call are:the contracting of a custodial agent for guarantees of participation, capable of executing activities in Brasília and São Paulo and the execution of all activities that refer to control of delivery, extension and release of guarantees.(DB/GL)
*TRANSMISSION INSTALLATIONS OF EXCLUSIVE INTEREST TO GENERATION PLANTS FOR SHARED CONNECTION (ICG) –Transmission installations and equipment, not part of the BASIC GRID and the other transmission installations, for shared access of generation plants using wind, biomass or small hydroelectric plants connected to the basic grid.
