Agency authorizes energy self-producing agent in Rio Grande do Sul

Company CPMC Celulose Riograndense Ltda. was allowed to act as energy the self-producing* agent as of the establishment and operation of thermal power plant (TPP) CMPC, located in the municipality of Guaiba in Rio Grande do Sul. The thermal plant, with 57.9 megawatts (MW) of power installed, will use coal and black liquor as fuel.

The authorization was decided upon at the collegiate meeting of the board of ANEEL held last Tuesday (09/27). Brazil currently has 280 energy self-producing agents, of which 37 sell the energy surplus produced.
