The financial compensation by the use of hydric resources to create of electrical energy for cities, states and union, including royalties (financial compensation due to Itaipu’s hydroelectric station) added R$ 164,18 millions in September 2011 and listed R$ 1,487 billion in what was accumulated during all the year (January until September).
Only in September, 685 cities of 21 states plus the Federal District and the Union received R$ 133, 27 million required by way of Financial Grant by Using Hybrid Resources (FGUHR), while the transference of R$ 30,9 millions of royalties reaching 342 municipals of five states, including too the Federal District and the Union.
January until September, was distributed a total of R$ 1, 21 billion for FGUHR and R$ 271, 85 million in royalties.
Municipals have 45% of collecting, while others 45% are directed for the states. The income con be applied in health programmers, education and public security, but can’t be used to eliminate tax debts, nor particular payment, except if the creditor be the Union.
The Union receives the remaining 10%, which are distributed for the Water National Agency (WNA), the National Source of Scientific and Technological Development (NSSTD) and for the ministries of the Environment, Hydric Resources and Legally Amazonia (LA), Energy and Mines (EM).
The collection and distributing of the compensations and royalties belongs to the National Agency of Electrical Energy (NAEE).
