Consumers receive BRL 163,770,000 in compensation for loss of power from January to June 2011

Power consumers received BRL 163.77 million in compensation for interruptions in the supply of electricity in the first half of 2011. The value was 7.43% higher than the amount paid in the same period of 2010, which was BRL 152.44 million. 

41 million were paid in compensation for the breach of the individual indicators of Interruption Duration per Consumer Unit (DIC), Equivalent Interruption Frequency per Consumer Unit (FIC) and Maximum Continued Interruption Duration per Consumer Unit (DMIC). 

The data are present in the semiannual consolidated balance sheet by the National Energy Agency (ANEEL) from the information forwarded by 61 distribution utilities in the country. The data is subject to verification by the Superintendency of Electricity Oversight Services (PES). 

Again, the Southeast was the region where the value of compensation was higher, with BRL 61.68 million. The North was second, with BRL 44.66 million in payments, followed by the Northeast, with BRL 27.28 million and South, with BRL 17.54 million. In the Midwest region BRL 12.59 million were paid.
