The Board of ANEEL decided, last Tuesday (10/11), to put under public hearing for exchange of documents and onsite session in Brasilia (DF), the draft resolution which enhances guidelines related to universal public services of electricity. 

The purpose of this standard is to regulate Decree No. 7.520/2011, which extended the National Program for Universal Access and Use of Electricity for All (PLPT) for the years 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. 
In addition, the new regulation will address the issue of works of universal high cost (three times the average cost of the works scheduled for PLPT), which was the subject of Public Hearing No. 115/2010. Due to the high cost, the distributors were not required to make those connections and they were waiting expecting ANEEL guidelines, which have now been proposed in the draft resolution which will be available to receive contributions.
