The edict for the first A-5 energy auction (Auction no.07/2011) for contracting electricity from hydroelectric, wind and biomass or gas thermoelectric in a combined cycle generation enterprises will begin the public hearing process starting this Wednesday (10/19).
The auction, set for December 20, is conducted by the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) and operationalized by the Chamber of Electric Energy Commercialization (CCEE), in accordance with the guidelines from the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), stipulated in Administrative Rule no.566/2011.
The startup of energy supply by the contracted enterprises is projected for January 1, 2016. For this auction, 377 electric energy generation enterprises were registered in the Energy Research Company (EPE).Altogether, the plants have an installed capacity of 24,253.6 megawatts (MW).
