The Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) board decided this Tuesday (10/18) to maintain the current tariffs at Companhia Piratininga Força e Luz (CPFL Piratininga) and Bandeirante Energia S/A until application of the new methodology for the third cycle of tariff reviews, still under analysis at the Agency.The decision will be consolidated through ratification resolutions to soon be published in the Official Federal Gazette.
CPFL Piratininga serves 1.43 million consumer units in 26 cities in the state of São Paulo.Bandeirante provides energy to 1.53 million consumer units in 28 municipalities, also in São Paulo.
The provisional procedure for treating electric energy distributor tariffs with a periodic tariff review projected for the year was approved in April (Resolution no.433/2011). The systematic was adopted in the reviews of Companhia Energética do Ceará (Coelce), Eletropaulo Metropolitana Eletricidade de São Paulo S/A, and Elektro Eletricidade e Serviços S/A.The review of CPFL Piratininga and Bandeirante is held every four years on October 23.
After identifying the methodology of the third cycle of tariff reviews, the distributors that had their tariff validity period extended will have 28 days to present initial information needed for review of the tariff calculation, except those related to the Regulatory Remuneration* Base, which continue accompanying Resolution no.342/2008.
The new resolution will also determine the retroactive application of new values to the tariff review contract date.The variation of revenues resulting from the difference between tariffs applied in the provisional period for the tariff review validity period and those defined in the approval of definitive results will be calculated and awarded.(DB/GL/PG).
